VI Internacional Congress of Safety in Ports: Green Molecule Safety

22th & 23th of May 2024

The term “green or renewable molecule” refers to those molecules that are obtained from renewable energy sources such as the sun, wind or water. These molecules can be used as fuels, industrial feedstocks or for electricity production and their use helps to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and mitigate the environmental impact associated with their extraction and use. Examples of renewable molecules include hydrogen obtained by electrolysis of water, methane produced from anaerobic digestion of organic waste, and biofuels such as biodiesel and bioethanol. All these processes will have a strong impact on port facilities and will be the focus of our discussion at the VI Congress.
